WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
To make chocolate, cocoa beans are fermented, dried and then processed into cocoa mass, which looks like chocolate, but is very bitter! Cocoa mass is a value-added product and commands a much higher price than cocoa beans. We aim to buy cocoa mass from factories in Africa and South America, so the added value remains in the country in which the beans are grown. The vast majority of beans are shipped to Europe and processed there by multinationals, who then receive that added value. We import cocoa mass and make it into chocolate to our own recipes here in the UK. We add a small amount of sugar to round off the bitterness, but leave the wonderful characteristic flavours for you to savour. We have a unique process that makes a chocolate powder, without grinding. Our chocolate powder is rich, delicious and high in cocoa solids. It dissolves well in your drink, but the secondary benefit is that it melts really easily too, so is great to use in recipes and for fondues!
FREE FROM
All of our chocolate products are diary-, gluten- and soya-free. While it is easy for us to make dark chocolates with no dairy content and no gluten, a white chocolate with no dairy is something else! We also do not use soy lecithin in our products, preferring to use a smidgen of the much more user-friendly sunflower lecithin in its place. Additionally, none of our products contain nuts.
FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE
We work with a lot of suppliers in origin countries, who are buying quality beans at fair prices and who process these beans into cocoa mass that we then buy to make into our chocolates. Our suppliers have their own schemes in place to benefit their workers: healthcare, housing, canteens, transport, environmental projects and schooling, for instance, often for the benefit of the community, as well as their own workers. When we buy cocoa mass from them the money we pay supports both the growers and the communities based around the processing factories. We are currently working with our suppliers to help them achieve Rainforest Alliance accreditation.

We’ve sourced the finest cocoas from the best growing areas of the world to make chocolates with the characteristic flavours of those regions. From the mellow cocoas of West Africa with their brown fruit notes, to the sharper, spicier cocoas of South America.

FREE FROM WHITE COUVERTURE POWDER
Our white couverture powder, the gorgeous alternative to white chocolate is made from delicately flavoured cocoa from West Africa, refined sugar and a natural vanilla. It contains no dairy-, soya- or gluten-ingredients and because it doesn’t contain dairy products, European legislation doesn’t allow us to call it white chocolate, so White Couverture it is. (We can call it lovely and delicious though)!
When heated gently this powder melts to a smooth, fine flavoured…couverture, which can be used to make a host of delicious white chocolate recipes, but with no DAIRY! Just replace the white chocolate gram for gram with our White Couverture.

MELT AND DIP CHOCOLATES
We like a challenge, having been asked to make a gorgeous plain chocolate that would flow around a chocolate fountain, we did just that AND created a chocolate that needs NO OIL adding to it either! Of course, being a powder, it melts easily. Using West African cocoas, the result is a lovely mellow chocolate with gentle sultana notes: an intoxicating chocolate to dip your fruit, marshmallows, biscuits or even fingers into! And if you don’t have a fountain, then try one of our simple to use fondues: there’s even one for the BBQ! Now that really is genius!
