You do not need to add very much chocolate powder for this to be a very chocolatey pudding.
Method
In one large bowl mix together the apples, raisins, one tablespoon of the sugar and the lemon juice.
In another bowl mix together the breadcrumbs, rest of the sugar, chocolate powder and cinnamon.
Butter and oven proof pudding dish. Put in 1/3 of the apple mixture, followed by 1/3 of the breadcrumb mixture and then sprinkle over 1/3 of the melted butter.
Repeat the layers, finishing off with a layer of the breadcrumbs sprinkled over with butter.
Bake in the oven at 1800C, Gas Mark 4, (1600C for fan ovens) for 50 to 60 minutes.
Serve hot with cream or custard.
