Vegan Chocolate Pancakes


160g plain flour

3 tbsp Mortimer Chocolate Powder (any)

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

160ml almond milk

2tbsp golden syrup

To make the Vegan Chocolate Sauce

2 tbsp golden syrup

1 1/2 tbsp Mortimer Chocolate Powder

Water to thin as needed


  1. Into a mixing bowl sift the flour, chocolate powder, the baking powder and baking soda
  2. Mix until all combined evenly
  3. Add the almond milk and golden syrup and stir everything together to form your batter
  4. In a frying pan, heat some oil and then place a heaped tabelspoon of the pancake batter into the pan
  5. Cook each side of the pancake from around 2 minutes
  6. stack the pancakes on a plate when cooked

To make the vegan chocolate sauce

  1. Mix together the golden syrup and chocolate powder in a small bowl
  2. Add small splashes of water whilst stirring to thin the sauce as needed
  3. Pour over the vegan pancakes
  4. Enjoy!
